Just unexpectedly, (at least to us), Quadroon dropped a 4-track EP and it is good. The EP is entitled Because I Can.

The opener, “Simple As That” is a feel-good track. It’s produced by p.E., a producer with a dope ear for wavy beats. Quadroon flows perfectly along with the beat. He raps: “penny for your thoughts/ I feel high as hell,” making it easy to just nod your head along with the slick rhymes.

“Jumping To Conclusions” has a different sound than we are used to from Quadroon. It’s fresh and eccentric. Shout out to the slick-ass production from Evince. Quadroon’s rhymes are laced with metaphors, highlighting the fact that his young artist has the art of storytelling down pact. The wordplay is bananas as he flips words on its message and creates new meanings.

Following up from that track is “Grass is Greener,” which is very soulful. This is our favorite track and we are sure it will be a fan favorite as well. Quadroon raps about elaborating the classic phrase “grass is greener” with a witty take. He makes the sound his own. Quadroon feels the most comfortable almost at home when rapping on the Nick Nash Beats’ simple slow production.

Because I Can ends with “I Do What Can’t” and the track gives off a victorious vibe. “I Do What I Can’t” is the second track that is standout on the EP. The song is the most creative lyrically and sonically. It almost sounds timeless. Quadroon has that talented ear and has his eye on the prize. Go, Quadroon, go!
