From the home Hip Hop, Bronx New York, Steve Gunna is a young up and coming artist with his own style. He has an old school flow that compliments the calm old school style hip hop beats he raps over. He tells stories with each song which let’s you mentally picture what’s going on. His storytelling skills remind me of Joell Ortiz in the way he executes it. He’s a different type of rapper than what we hear nowadays so his rhymes are definitely refreshing.

“93 Flavor” has a nice smooth instrumental with a nice saxophone melody that plays throughout the song. Steve Gunna starts with rapping about himself and how he stays true to himself “I always come correct with respect no addition”. The chorus then kicks in “ How you feeling? Life is good”. He then criticizes how people can go on doing wrong things and think it’s okay “How can a man leave his family these deadbeat f*cks”. Ultimately he’s rapping about how he’s not like these other dudes out here even though he is from the same place that they’re from. Steve Gunna is definitely someone to keep an eye on. This single is as a whole is catchy.

This track is part of The Prequel, a smooth well rounded EP with 7 songs in total with. It’s a little something to hold us down until he drops his debut album Sheep Society.
