Xombie is a rapcore band formed in New York City in 2010 and is comprised of Atom Crews (lead vocals), Roy Galvan (lead guitar), Robert Fishkin (lead guitar), “Cadillac” Mike Martabano (bass), and Eric Castillo (drums). Their sound can most closely be compared to Rage Against the Machine, (Hed)PE, Body Count, Korn, Otep, and Metallica. It’s dope to listen to another rap infused genre, which is rapcore.
The band has three EP’s under their belt, the latest release being Capital X in July 2014. These guys are very very determined. They raised almost $11,000 on Kickstarter, the group toured throughout the end of 2012 and served as supporting acts for groups such as He is Legend, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Butcher Babies, Rittz, (Hed)PE, Like Moths to Flame, Otep, Dope, Bobaflex, Psychostick, Wu-Tang Clan’s Cappadonna, Apathy. Xombie also played in Bamboozle and CMJ Festivals and debuted new music at the CBGB Festival, which is the largest music festival in New York City.
Xombie released the single “Might As Well” from their anticipated album Super Cell, which is due to be released in June 2017. The single is a hardcore in your face song that is hip hop with metal and punk elements as well. This is definitely a song that you can’t sit still listening to. It gives you a mosh pit type of feel but there are definitely bars in it as well. There is also a sick music break where the drums go in and it is amazing. Take a listen for yourself:
