December 15, 2014 will go down as the day that D’Angelo delivers his 14-years-in-the-making album Black Messiah.
Maybe this album will give artists the courage & the heart to do the music they TRULY feel, instead of being cowards….#BlackMessiah

Fans have traveled to the highest mountain tops of social media to sing praises of the project. That includes many of D’Angelo’s musical peers, the most notable of which was 9th Wonder, who spoke passionately about how this release can affect music for the greater good.
“Y’all ‘member when Jay-Z’s Blueprint dropped, and everybody started sampling again..it’s THAT kind of mainstream effect,” 9th tweeted. ” Citing the late, great J. Dilla’s influence on the project (he also greatly influenced the singer’s critically acclaimed Voodoo LP), the Jamla founder expounded on his thoughts in a series of tweets that we think all should read.
