RiFF RAFF scored a hit with his unofficial Air Jordan anthem “Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz.” Yesterday (Jan. 1), the rapper announced, via Instagram, that he would be collaborating with Jordan Brand in 2015. However, this is news to Jordan Brand.
Hip-Hop Wired reached out to Jordan Brand for confirmation and we were told, via a statement, “At this time there are currently no plans for this shoe or a collaboration with this individual.”
According to Jody High Roller’s Instagram post, 2015 would have seen what looks like an Air Jordan 5 collab in Champs Sports, Foot Locker, Foot Action and Flight Club.
The mention of Flight Club should have been the first sign of the jig—besides the suspect “prototype” that looked more like a Photoshop job—since the store is a consignment shop.
Also, the struggle rapper claimed the kicks would retail for $750 and come with his new album.
Despite outlets reporting this interesting news, it turned out to be more artful trolling than actual fact.
