M.A.R. is a rap artist from Bridgeport, CT with a lot to offer to the rap genre. From his swag, brand and lyrics, M.A.R should be on your radar. He has co-headlined with Chris Webby and has been opening acts for 2Chainz, Lupe Fiasco, Beanie Sigel, Juelz Santana, Jeezy and more just to name a few. M.A.R has been grinding non-stop and making major waves.
His latest single, “Haters” is becoming a fan favorite over the blogosphere and the success is pouring in from that track alone. So I was happy to catch up with M.A.R to do this interview to update the fans and new listeners on what he has planned for summer ’16.

Talk about the experience making your song/mixtape.
M.A.R: I have my own studio, so I’m constantly working everyday. I just get in my zone and go. It’s a difference when you really love this game.
What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?
M.A.R: Yes I’m gearing up to drop my newest single “MARTIN LUTHER BLVD” produced by DITTY BROKER. I just recently got off 14-city tour with Chris Webby. That was phenomenal. We had a ball. Be on the lookout, I have new tour in the works.
What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?
M.A.R: Everything I do is the biggest highlight of my career, but I have a few that stand out to me. I had a chance to perform for the WNBA Connecticut Sun game At Mohegan Sun Arena/Casino & Resort. That was major to me. It meant a lot to me. Also performing at the Webster Bank Arena in my city Bridgeport, CT, alongside 2 Chainz and Chris Webby. That also meant a lot to me. I remember when Webster bank Arena was built. So getting a chance to perform there was dream come true. Also being added to Lupe Fiasco’s Tetsou & Youth tour for the night at The legendary Toads place in Connecticut. Lupe Is the big bro, So being able to open up for him in my state was another dream come true. I can go on for days. I’m just thankful.

Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s).
M.A.R: I know me and my bro Lupe Fiasco will make a hit for sure #FACTS.
Name something random that people do not know about you.
M.A.R: I am an Aquarius.
What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?
M.A.R: That if you really wanna make, you gotta give it your all hard work and dedication.
What can we expect from you in the future?
M.A.R: Expect me to take to infinity and beyond in my Buzz Lightyear voice (laughs), but seriously expect me to take it straight to the top. #LIGHTUPPP
