Spotlight Interview: Tr3y Tr3y

Tr3y Tr3y is a new artist that you should have on your radar. His music is relatable and is a breath of fresh air to listen to. His authenticity shines through, making his artistry something real and honest. Tr3y Tr3y is very versatile as well, whether he raps about real black life issues, or give the ladies a nice admiration track, he doesn’t limit himself to just one category. And that’s what makes him dope.
I recently did an interview with Tr3y Tr3y to talk about his music, upcoming plans, and some of his music highlights.
Tell us about yourself and your music.
My name is Tr3y Tr3y. Born and raised in Dallas, TX. My music is a reflection of myself and my perspective on life. I like to talk how I’m feeling or what’s going on in the world around me.
How would you describe your sound?
I have more of a retro sound. I grew up with 90’s Hip-Hop so that’s the sound I try to emulate.
Talk about the experience making your song/mixtape.
“Tori Kelly” was a bit different considering I was writing about being in love with someone I’ve yet to meet. “Breaking Point” speaks on the issue of police brutality towards African Americans that has escalated recently.
What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?
I’m working on releasing my first EP Crowning of a Prince. It’s a reference to me being the new prince of Hip-Hop.
What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?
“Tori Kelly” being played overseas, releasing a video through VEVO, and “Breaking Point” being played on a major FM radio station.
Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s).
Eminem is my favorite rapper so to work with him would be amazing and to work with my crush Tori Kelly would be awesome.
Name something random that people do not know about you.

I have conjoined toes on each foot. RANDOM!

What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?

You get nowhere without exposure and promotion. Reaching the level you to be at is not an overnight process.

What can we expect from you in the future?

You can expect quality music with dope lyrics and the ability to connect with people of all ages, races, and religions.
