screen-shot-2016-11-13-at-8-01-48-am
Tain is an upcoming hip hop artist hailing from Denver, Colorado and he is making some waves in his hometown. Fresh off the release of his recent single, “Hundoe,” Tain talks about real issues like how to deal with real friends and how to cut off backstabbers. Tain’s style is his own and rightfully so, it works for him because he is authentic and true to his music and lyrics. I got a chance to interview Tain to talk about his new music, upcoming plans, plus more. Check out the interview below.
Tell us about yourself and your music.
Well my name is TAIN and I was born in Denver Co where I’m currently residing, but I lived in Richmond, Va and Waterloo, IA my whole life. I been doing music hard for about 5/6 years but been in love with it my whole life but I started making beats and rapping my senior year in high school in Richmond Va.
How would you describe your sound?
Original, unique and versatile. I don’t nor do I attempt to imitate anyone but TAIN in or out the studio.
Talk about the experience making your song/mixtape.
Man lately I have been having crazy trust issues people turning I thought was real too many people! I felt cornered so I came out swinging with “HUNDOE” music is how I get my stress out that or slap the hell outta one of these counterfeit dudes. I’m cool with people being fake just keep it of there though you feel me.
What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?
I have a new mixtape dropping in March “Crack 2 Tha Future” no swearing just bars and good music. Single off the tape will be out Feb.14th.
What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?
I’ll have to say when I was stressing about 3 yrs ago. I was thinking about going back to the streets cuz my music wasn’t where I wanted it to be. I was still in the struggle and all that almost at rock bottom. I got a message on Facebook from some kid in NY asking me about my mixtape and where he can get it from then he told me how I helped save his life. His father died; he was homeless having dark thoughts and some more stuff but my music helped him get threw it.That matters most to me because that’s what I do it for and to make that paper stack but to help people get threw there issues musically or physically even when my people set and good that’s going to be my agenda because that’s me, TAIN.
Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s).
Pharrell Williams. His music is so versatile and unique even his beats to the point it’s not an artist, he couldn’t work with plus he’s from VA.
Name something random that people do not know about you.
I’ma Dragon Ball Z fanatic lol when I was a kid it took me away from poverty for 30 mins and it was dope to me to see gods on earth but yeah dbz fan I’m definitely guilty.

What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?

Go off of actions because everybody talks and in the indie and music industry they do it better its so many scams and hustles people try to run on you so actions over words, but I do that with everybody but now. I’m more keyed in on it.
What can we expect from you in the future?
To hear way more about me and my music. I’ve been underground for a min, but now it’s time to surface and go in.
