Spotlight Interview: Hefe Heetroc

Hefe Heetroc is an upcoming artist who is doing things his way. Whether you like his music or not, he is staying true to his artistry and his truth. Which is very commendable. His sound is quite different, but nonetheless good music because of his lyrics and his art of storytelling.
Hefe’s latest release, “Shr00mz” has a heavy 90’s era of hip hop influence mixed with those current underground rap vibes. This is the single to listen to in order to get the gist of what Hefe Heetroc is about.
“Shr00mz” video is now available on the Roku streaming TV channel “Untapped Music Video Network”.

Tell us about yourself and your music.
Hey what’s up? I’m Hefe Heetroc from Rochester, New York. I’m a producer and emcee; my music is a hybrid of Ghostrap & Vaporwave
How would you describe your sound?
Trippy stoner music, multi-dimensional lyrics.

Talk about the experience making your song/mixtape.
Well the process behind recording my album (Inoculare: Intersecting Dimensions), was a long one. I’m notoriously picky about mixing and lyrics, so my album took about a year or so to create.
What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?
Currently I got an upcoming mixtape I’m working on called “The Shadow Cabal of the 8 Oligarchs” coming soon.
What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?
Filming my music video in California.
Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s).
Flatbush Zombies or Beck
Name something random that people do not know about you.
I love retro video games.
What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?
Well, you have to promote your own music, and that’s not cheap. You have to network with thousands of blogs to get reviews, you really have to believe in yourself as an artist.
What can we expect from you in the future?
My new album “Blind Allegiance”, coming soon.
Anything else you would like to share with our readers?
