Get to know JBadge, the rising hip hop artist who is out here doing his time with this rap game. His authenticity rings true because as an artist and young man, JBadge doesn’t follow, he takes the lead. So there’s no need to worry about gimmicks, he is the real deal. Unapologetic and raw with the lyrics, many listeners to rap and trap music will like this kid. We did an interview with JBadge to talk about future music, upcoming plans and more.
Tell us about yourself and your music.
My name is JBadge and I’m an artist from Fairfield CA near/in the Bay Area depending on who you’re talking to.
How would you describe your sound?
I like to say my sound is free.I like trying out new shit none of my songs really have the same sound or flow. Some people might disagree but fuck em; can’t force people to listen to details.
Talk about the experience making your song/mixtape.
I’ve been working on my debut project (I will reveal the name at the end of this interview) Since the summertime of 2016 and I’m glad to see how far I’ve came as an artist in such little time. This project will surprise a lot of people, whether you like my music or not. It’s not just a simple mixtape with random songs. I think [they] are hits. It will sound and feel like an album.
What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?
Finishing up my debut project hopefully will be out before May.
What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?
My biggest highlight has been reaching 18.1k on my song “Guap” that started off as a simple freestyle and also performing in my first show in Oakland CA.
Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s).
JBadge x Steez already the best collab you gone hear.
Name something random that people do not know about you.
I’m from that otha earth over there.
What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?
That you gotta watch out for people who wanna use what you love just to put money in their pockets.
Also that I can’t please everybody so block them out and remember why I started doing this music shit. It was never for them.
What can we expect from you in the future?
My debut project is going to be called Menåce produced by Stav Z. It’s going to be special; so stay tuned.
