Album Review: @DaveyDuckhunter "Dead Duck"

“Dead Duck” is the debut album from supergroup M.O.B Stars’ newest member,  SaFE. M.O.B Stars are a super Hip Hop group from New Jersey. Each member holds their own and contributes to the group to make it force to be reckoned with. SaFE, who’s name is an acronym of his New Era fitted cap size, Seven and Five Eighths, has the flow of the original Hip Hop emcees that we grew up. He has punchlines that are hard hitting and a deliverance that can be compared to the greats in the game. He cites some of his influences ranging from KRS-One to Lupe Fiasco to MF Doom. He always raps with a message reminding his listeners to be true to themselves and to always aim high. He always uses himself as the model.
The album, “Dead Duck” loosely chronicles SaFE’s creative development and how it shapes his outlook on the climate of his art and industry. His flow is so effortless on each track as if he’s just talking to you regularly. He spits about body image, the Reptilian conspiracy, abortion and domestic violence, courtship and matriarchal religions among other things. It’s refreshing to hear someone rap about true things that always have to deal with drugs and violence. He raps about his opinions and thoughts over instrumental with soulful samples that are greatly appreciated. All together it adds a nice vibe that you can bump to. Each song just brings me back to when Hip Hop had more substance. You can take a listen to it here:

All in all, this album deserves a listen to. If you are a hip hop fan, you will appreciate the flow and lyricism SaFE has to offer.
