CTC (Create the Culture) consists of Ace, Kaiba, Pascal, and bk Fire. They are Canadian artists, specifically from Saskatchewan. They are all from different countries originally but all settled there like destiny. High School best friends, these 4 decided to start the group and get things rolling. Even though they’ve known each other for a long time, they didn’t decide to start making music until 8 years into the friendship. “We’ve always had a passion for the late night beat box and freestyle sessions that we held all throughout high school, but didn’t recognize our true calling until 4 years later at 22 years of age” the group says.
It was difficult to find pictures of the group but they explained “We prefer to keep our anonymity as we want our music to speak for us” which is very unique. The CTC vibe encompasses simple principles – Spreading the culture of Love, Loyalty, Crew-Love, Self-Expression and crushing through envy and jealousy. They say their mission is to “spread love, vibes, inspire and create dope music for ourselves and our fans!”.
Their sound is most closely reminiscent to Travis Scott, Post Malone, PartyNextDoor, Kid Cudi, and Kanye West.
These two songs off of their upcoming Ep “Create” are two chill trap type of songs. They both include singing and rap. When I first heard these songs I could tell straight off the bat these were Canadian artists which isn’t a bad thing. There are certain beats that most Canadian hip hop/r&b artists go for. Most of my favorite artists are Canadian. Their sound is smooth with great melodies.
Check out On Road below:
The second song, Found My Way is more smoother and chill than On Road. The instrumental is absolute fire. If I had to choose, I would choose this one as my favorite of the two but they are both good. It speaks of a lost one finally finding themselves. Take a listen below:
This group has a unique sound but also one that is heard in current music. The difference is that their voices are also unique which makes it better. It’s sort of like an OVO track you might here but more chill. The tracklisting for the EP isn’t out yet but the release date is set for November 1, 2017. I’m looking forward to listening this group develop more and more on each project they work on.
