Spotlight Interview: King SKO ( @Kingsko4real)

Up next we have rap start King SKo as our spotlight interview. This artist is buzzing and making moves with his Murder Music project and the anticipation of new music on the way. We catch up with the new artist to talk about his sound, lessons, and experience in the indie scene. Check it out below.

Tell us about yourself and your music.
We’ll, I was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia but most of my life I’ve been in riverdale Georgia. I was born in 1996 and currently I am 21 years old. I’ve been doing music since I was literally 8 years old writing songs at school and at home and then I advanced my career when I turned 13 and I was selling cds at local gas stations and grocery stores trying to gain money to further my career and build a strong campaign by myself with no help at all.
How would you describe your sound?
I describe my sound as deep rap music. Like it’s not just ignorant hype music but it’s a combination of good lyrics with deep meanings and teachings over a nice hype beat.
Talk about the experience making your song/mixtape.
I’ve had a lot of experience making music over the years, all the way from when I recorded my first song in a official studio when I was only 13 years old to now i have recorded over 200 tracks but I only released somewhere around 50. I deleted a lot of my old music but you may still be able to find it if you search for them hard enough.
What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?
I was just currently released from jail and I have a lot of new material that I want to release but at the same time I want to reinvent myself and start everything over and build my business into a self made empire. So in the next couple of months I will have a lot of new music, videos, and definitely a new mixtape coming very soon.
What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?

My greatest highlight personally is my latest mixtape “murder music” a lot of people heard about that mixtape and gave me a lot of good reviews and insights on what they thought about my music. Also a few great highlights of my career was having the opportunities to perform in front of large crowds and meet a lot of new people over the past few months. I love the on stage feeling knowing everybody is watching you and waitin for you to deliver a breathtaking performance.
Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s).
My ideal c.ollaboration would be from the top artists of our time. And by that I mean the legends such as jay-z, lil Wayne, Kanye West , didn’t or any of the top most influential people in our time. Also I would love to do any type of collaboration with our new generation influencers that are topping charts right now such as Kendrick Lamar, migos, or any of the great names in the game right now. I’m very humble to work with everyone so anything that comes my way I would treat it as a great opportunity for each other and for our future and generation.
Name something random that people do not know about you.
A few things that people do not know about me are that for one , I am 6’3 , a lot of people on social media believed I was short for some reason. Another is that I am self made, ive never been signed and I take full responsibility for my career and campaign myself and I built a team that helps me complete all my goals. And one more I guess is that I have traveled all around the United States by myself over the past few years alone , every since I dropped out of high school I’ve just been going around the entire United States just to see the different cultures and places in the states . I hope to literally travel all around the world by time I am 25.

What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?
One thing I learned is that a lot of people will hate you just because they want to. Not for any valid reason at all , you will always have supporters but you will always have more haters to match every supporter so I had to learn to not listen to other people’s words of hate and just take it as criticism and make my own mistakes how I want to make them and to love my own lifestyle because no matter what there will alway be someone who has something bad to say about you regardless.
What can we expect from you in the future?
You can expect for me to become a legend. I don’t want to be a one hit wonder or have a part time success, I want to be the next jay-z , the person who speaks for the next 3 generations to come. I want to forever be known and I want to generate wealth for my entire family, not only just for myself. So get used to my name and be on the look out for me becoming the next jay-z.
Anything else you would like to share with our readers?
The last thing I want to do is to give everyone inspiration and tell everyone to follow their dreams and never let anyone else stop you from completing your goals or stop your ambition of anything that you believe in. Just stay focused, follow your dreams and do whatever makes you happy in life because you only live once and you have to live the best life you can . So everyone stay blessed and thank you all for the opportunity of having me!
